Children of single parents, orphans, and children from families of extreme poverty usually comeunder this activity. The eligibility for this scheme is that the GS & CRPO thoroughly check thechild’s background and is recommended by the respective Divisional Secretary. The monthly donation is being paid quarterly to the children. The children’s progress reports and their attendance are checked and forwarded to the respective donors, and the children and the parents/guardians are advised as per the progress. This is the usual practice under child sponsorship.As such Child First UK has 50 sponsored children in the Mullaitheivu district.
