Support for Durable Resettlement (SDR – Y3)
British High Commission (BHC) in collaboration with UNDP is funding CFCD to implement the ‘Support for Durable Resettlement’ (SDR) in Jaffna district. The project is being implemented in Tellipalai, Velanai, Chavakachcheri and Maruthankerny DS divisions from October 2021 with a duration of 9 months. The beneficiaries who got resettled after 2015 are selected together with the Divisional Secretariats and are assessed further by UNDP and CFCD before finalizing the appropriate input.Each beneficiary gets inputs of their choice worth LKR 150,000 to start-up the livelihood activity chosen. For six agricultural beneficiaries from Thyiddy South of Tellipalai DS Division the distribution was started today (28 Jan’22). The items were handed over in the presence of the Divisional Secretariat representatives, UNDP officers, CFCD representatives and the community members at Thyiddy South GN’s office. Each beneficiary gets a complete file containing the list of items with price and the details of the vendor with the warranty certificates. A handing over certificate is in the file signed by the Divisional Secretary, Chairman/CFCD and the beneficiary. If there are any issues the beneficiary can have direct access to required personnel and sort out matters.
